30-second demo
An animated preview — adaptive plans, set logging, Apple Watch, and privacy by design. A full screen-recorded demo will replace this at launch.
What it is
Building Routines brings strength training and nutrition into one native iPhone and Apple Watch app. It generates adaptive, sport-aware workout plans, tracks macros with barcode scanning, and builds meal plans around your macros and your grocery budget — all with no backend.
What makes it different
- Privacy by architecture. No backend, no required account, no third-party tracking. The only network call is an anonymous food-barcode lookup. App Store label: "Data Not Collected."
- An Apple Watch app built for recording, not data entry. Live heart rate and Digital Crown set logging on the wrist; assign the details from iPhone afterward.
- Adaptive, on-device planning. The daily plan eases up when your recovery signals dip — running on the phone, not in a cloud.
- Solo indie, fully native. Built on SwiftUI, SwiftData, HealthKit, and StoreKit with zero third-party SDKs.
Key features
- Adaptive "Today's plan" plus build-your-own and guided routine styles, sport-aware for 14 sports including bowling.
- Exercise library with step-by-step how-tos and form references.
- Macro and barcode nutrition tracking with goal-aware daily targets.
- Meal planning with an auto shopping list that respects macros and budget.
- Apple Watch: live heart rate and Digital Crown set logging.
- Analytics (Pro): a 1–10 workout effectiveness score and heart-rate zone breakdown.
Coming soon A 1.1 update in development adds on-device voice set logging, multi-week Programs, and a free recovery suite.

From the developer
"Most fitness apps treat your body data as their product. I built the opposite — a genuinely useful training and nutrition app where your data never leaves your phone. No servers, no account, nothing to harvest."
— Jason Briggs, developer of Building Routines
